Mad as a box of badgers, but a lot more relaxing of an evening.
As a general rule we’re not huge fans of Karim Rashid’s work. It’s all just a bit to “showy” for us – to much design not enough function.
However, even we had to stop when we saw his TV Tub for Korean bathroom producer Saturn.
TV Tub isn’t Rashids first piece for Saturn, and is unlikely to be his last … it is however unlikely to be bettered.
Essentially it is nothing more than bath tub with an inbuilt TV.
It’s nothing more than that.
A plane is nothing more than a metal box that can fly.
Our laptop is just some loosely connected bits of electric hardware.
Xarel·lo Clàssic by Albet i Noya is just some squashed grapes that have been left in barrel for a couple of months.
Aside from its wonderful organic shape – and yes we are thinking La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames – TV Tub it’s just the best excuse to have a bath since… well lets not go down that road.
It looks good, its almost certainly very very comfortable … and it’s got an inbuilt TV
We approve. Heartily.
(and yes, the TV is waterproof)
